Life in a Medieval Castle never felt so real!
Year One travelled back in time today to experience life inside the castle of Lady Ruth. Because her husband was away, we learned how to defend the castle with arrows, to heal our nasty ailments with lotions and potions, to make candles to light our way, to make leather pockets to keep our valuables safe and so, so much more.
In the afternoon we prepared a banquet to celebrate his safe return and we bought ‘gifts’ to the banquet of acting, dancing, singing, jesting, juggling and jousting. We drank ‘wine’, ate cheese and even had the most sumptuous food – gingerbread with expensive ginger spices.
No wonder we went home rather tired!
