As part of our science learning around classification, we explored the process of grouping through classification keys. Before we explored keys on paper or wrote our own, we classified our class outside by grouping year 6 by asking yes or no questions such as ‘Are you male?’ Children then split themselves accordingly and continued to separate themselves by recording on whiteboards questions that would help differentiate themselves from each other. Finally, we finished with individuals grouped and classified by themselves creating a human classification key!
