Wednesday 25th March Reception

Day 3 of home learning and the weather looks great,

I hope you are starting to settle into a routine at home with your learning. Remember to tune into Joe Wicks again today for your daily exercise. I have found that this is helping to energise me for the day. If you are finding that your muscles are sore try something a little easier like Cosmic Kids on YouTube.

Maths: 1 less

Yesterday you found 1 more than a given number but today we will focus on 1 less. A great practical way to recap this is to count how many of 1 food you have, eat one, and then count again. You could even cut a sandwich into small bite size squares to count. Once you are confident with this try finding 1 less with your number line.

English: Name writing

Today, practise writing your full name. In your packs you will find a piece of paper with your full name written using the school’s handwriting. Try and write your full name using the correct lines and handwriting. If you are struggling with a particular letter formation then focus on that first.

Don’t forget to read 5 times a week. This can be your reading book or another book.

Other: Technology

Write a list of all of the technology you use in your kitchen and living room. How do you use these? What are they used for? What do you think your mum or dad’s favourite piece of technology is and why? Put your answers to these in the comments and we will respond later today. If you prefer you can email these to:

Max has been counting out cereal pieces with one more and one less. He did brilliantly and is now happily eating the pieces for a snack! He has written his name three times and next he wants to do some teach your monster to read before we find some tech in our house.

We practiced one more, one less today with dinosaurs, a sheet available on Twinkl. Rocket words read and we FaceTimed Joshua’s Auntie and Uncle this evening so Joshua could read his reading books to them. Joshua says hello to everyone x
