Wednesday 1st April- Reception
Good morning everyone,
Have you been thinking of what you will dress up as for Joe Wicks’ Friday workout? Maybe you could make something.
Anyway, start with Joe’s workout on his YouTube channel at 9am to get you ready for today’s learning.
Literacy
Today we are going to try a close read. This is when we read you a story and ask questions about the text. Follow the link below to Some Dogs Do by Jez Alborough.
https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/storybooks-and-games/some-dogs-do/
You will need an adult to read these questions to you. Try to answer in full sentences and speak clearly.
Page 1- Where was Sid going? How was he feeling? Listen out for the rhyming words throughout the story.
Page 2- What does ‘lifted’ mean?
Page 3- Can you make a swirling and twirling movement with your hand? Go anticlockwise, as if you were writing letters c, o and a.
Page 4- Why didn’t Ben believe him?
Page 5- What did Sid’s classmates do?
Page 6- What was Sid’s teacher called?
Enjoy the rest of the story. What happened at the end? Did you like this book? Explain why.

What can you see from your window?
Create a picture to show this. You could draw, paint or college by cutting or ripping paper and sticking it on your picture.
We would love to hear how you are getting on.
Take care,
