Thursday 2nd April – Years 4, 5 and 6

Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday!

We hope you are ready for another fun day of home learning. Thank you to everyone who has emailed us or sent a blog comment so far – we are really enjoying reading them and seeing all of the fantastic work you are doing. Keep it up!

As usual, we are starting the day with Joe Wicks at 9am and we will learn some British Sign Language with Natasha Lamb on YouTube after lunch. We hope you choose to join in too!

Here are your literacy, maths and wider curriculum tasks for the day. We can’t wait to see and hear all of your creative ideas – your descriptions of the shipwreck yesterday were fantastic!

We hope you have a lovely day!

Miss Lowe, Miss Spaven, Miss Taylor, Mrs Byfield, Miss Clancy and Miss Chambers

    Maths

    1 Circle = 2 children
    1/2 Circle = 1 child
    Tuesday = 11 children
    therefore, 3 children did not walk on Tuesday.

    50 + 30 = 80
    60 + 20 = 80
    0 + 80 = 80

    I will now do my white rose maths.

    Well done Year 5 – it looks like you have had such a productive day. We’ve loved reading about your caterpillar values; these will be a great help to our families in the weeks to come. Well done for being so inventive with Scratch – we are all learning about new aspects of technology aren’t we? I have been playing online Scrabble with my mum and going to church via Zoom.
    I’ve had an exciting day as I heard from an author on Twitter. Her name is Jennifer Killick and she has written a new book called ‘Crater Lake.’ It’s top of my reading list for the Easter holidays!

      Brilliant work Elvin! They sound like some lovely ideas for the caterpillar values. What book are you reading at the moment? Would you recommend it to others?
