Friday 3rd April- Reception

Welcome to our last day of term!

Keep going with Joe Wicks and send us some photos if you dress up!

Literacy

Let’s try some Phonics today. An adult will need to say the words. Children you need to segment them (split them up into sounds) and write down the sounds you can hear.

3 sound words-    pan     red

4 sound words-    sink     dust

5 sound words-    grand     plank

Play Sound Swap. This is where we start with one word and change it to another, by swapping one sound.

Start with fed swap to bed swap to bad swap to mad swap to  mat

Dictation- adults say one word at a time. Children segment each word and then write it down. Remember to start with a capital letter, end with a full stop and leave spaces between words.

Sam must not just jump in the pond.

Maths

Matching pairs game

Find the number cards 1-10 and numicon cards from your pack. (They will need to be cut out by an adult please.)

Turn them all face down. Turn two over at a time. If they match, leave them facing up and turn over another two. If they do not match, turn them both back and try to remember where they were when you have another go.

Build the numicon staircase when you have matched all the pairs.

If an adult takes a piece away when you are not looking and closes the gap, can you tell them which piece is missing?

Other

We have enjoyed being creative in the kitchen. This is Mrs Worth’s lovely flapjack recipe. Have a go at making these, or something else and follow the instructions.

We will not be posting work during the Easter holidays, so will be back online on Monday 20th April. If you want to keep busy you could repeat some of the tasks from the past two weeks, keep reading (there are many books online) and writing.

Stay safe and well.

Best wishes,

Great work Andi. Can you use your numicon staircase to find one more and one less.
