Wednesday 22nd April – Year 2 and 3
Hello everyone,
We had some great responses from yesterday’s activities, especially for the science task. Well done to you all who had a go!
Here are your activities for today – please don’t hesitate to ask if there is anything you are unsure of and as usual, we would love to see any work you have done through the comments or our emails – mrs.hackney@wfps.org.uk, miss.shah@wfps.org.uk, etc.
PE with Joe Wicks is still running from 9 – 9.30am

If you can, continue to read a story at some point during the day or listen to one of your teacher’s reading a story on a previous blog post (more stories are going to be uploaded soon from different teachers so keep your eyes peeled for them!)

We hope you all have a lovely day.

One day I found a bottle of bubble mixture. I blew an enormous bubble and fell on top of it. Suddenly, it popped so I blew another and jumped on top. I started to gently float into the blue sky. Soon I landed in a sandy, sunny holiday resort. I could smell the salty sea and pretty flowers. My toes felt the satisfying sand as I listened to a crab scuttling along. I licked my scrumptious, vanilla ice cream and I felt extremely happy to be on holiday. A moment later I met a white, shiny horse and I hopped onto his back and galloped all the way home. What an exciting adventure!
Wow, I really enjoyed reading this Luella. It made me want to go away on holiday somewhere hot and sunny. I love that you used adverbs and expanded noun phrases.

James’ fantasy story:
One time a boulder came flying down to Earth, it landed right next to me. Then as if by magic it lifted me up and put me on top of it and flew away with me. An hour later me and the boulder landed in the black eye galaxy, I got off it and went exploring into the darkness.
Then I noticed it was snowing candyfloss, I guessed “yes of course”, it is the black eye galaxy!” The snow was blue, I had a snowball fight with some aliens. They were purple and green with black eyes and yellow hair. They were very funny and made me laugh telling jokes. After my adventure I went back home to bed.
I love how imaginative this is James! I would be eating all of that snowing candyfloss. Well done for using noun phrases and some speech. I wonder if you used the speech marks yourself? That is great punctuation… almost perfectly correct!

Once night I went to bed with my Peter Rabbit cuddly toy. I got in to bed, closed my eyes and tried to sleep.
All of a sudden, Peter spoke to me and said “If you cuddle me, I’ll take you to a magical place” So I cuddled him as hard as I could!
When I opened my eyes I saw vibrant colours everywhere! There were animals and flowers of every size and colour. There was a huge waterfall which sparkled as it flowed.
Although it was beautiful, I felt a bit scared so I asked Peter “How do I get home?”
Peter said “As this is such an amazing place, you have to cuddle me twice so I know you REALLY want to go home”
I closed my eyes again and cuddled Peter twice. I opened my eyes and I was back in my bed and it was morning time.
Was it real or was it all an amazing dream?
What a great story Dylan. I love the question at the end. I wonder if was a dream! I love how you used speech and I love the noun phrase of ‘vibrant colours’. I wonder if he would be scared if he visited that place again? What would be do next time? I have all sorts of questions!

Hello. We are making a time capsule and wondered if one of the teachers would write something that we could put in it please? It would be interesting to hear your perspective and how school is different for the teachers and children that still go. Maybe you could post something on this blog that we could print off, then if anyone else is doing a time capsule they could use it too. Thank you.
Good Morning,
What a lovely idea! I will put together a paragraph for you to include, either today or tomorrow.
Thanks,
Miss Bailey
Fantasy writing :-
I love unicorns. I was walking in the forest suddenly the bush started moving. I walked slowly towards the bush but there was nothing. Then I saw a trail with rainbows on it. I stared following the rainbow trail. Then it stopped! I saw a world with a glorious path there was a unicorn with colourful hair. The place smelled like chocolate and the floor was fluffy. I got so excited that I ate the floor and it tasted like candy then I heard some unicorn making noises. When I turned around i saw loads of unicorns. It was the best day ever.
Maths :-
1) 27 / 3 =9

3) 76 + 25 = 101
4) 6 x 4 = 24
5) 7 x 2 = 14
6) 12 x 3 / 4 = 9
7) 5 x 6 = 30
