Year 1 Home learning Week beginning 18th May

Hello Chestnut and Cherry class. Good Morning!

Welcome to another week of Home Learning. We hope you have had a lovely weekend. We all miss you and send our very best wishes to you and your family. Aren’t we lucky to have such weather at the moment? However, I expect that the plants, trees and some animals are looking forward to some rain too!

There are many whole school/ family activities on the blog for all children to enjoy and access so please look at them too.

Here are some activities for you to do over the week. Our phonics has had to change, a message was sent out on Friday to explain the reasons for this. Mrs Felstead is still going to continue to think about the phonics but we will be working on the link below this week.

PE– Remember there is Joe Wicks at 9.00, Cosmic Yoga and  The School Sports Challenge.

We are carrying on with the Oak Academy work but working on the 11th May work as we are working on a different order to make it relevant for our curriculum.

It is a about writing a story called The Tiger who came to Tea which is such a lovely story.

Pond life- You may have walked around Abington Park or another pond on your daily exercise. We thought you might want to find out more about Pond life habitats. These activities are here to help you.

Woodlands- You may have also been on a walk through a woodland. These activities are to learn more about woodland habitats.

Music-This week we would like you to practise and sing this lovely song at home. Hope you enjoy singing it. We did sing it a long time ago but its such a great song, it would be lovely to sing it each day.


On Thursday there is an attempt to beat a world record by doing a drawing activity. If would be great if you could join in and help try and beat the world record.
