Spelling/Phonics
Keep learning your Year 3 / 4 common exception words (there should be a copy in your reading record, your home learning pack and you can also find them online).
- Spelling Activity:
Phonics – sh and ch
Sometimes the ‘sh’ sound can be spelt with a ‘ch’ like in chute.
The ‘ch’ spelling is also found it words like chip or character – what sound is it making in those words?
Have a practice using the activity below:

What do plants need to live?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/znm4kmn
Plant growth
- Plants need air, light, warmth, water and nutrients to be healthy.
- If they are healthy, they can continue making their own food through photosynthesis .
- Most healthy plants are upright with green leaves.
Investigation:
Conduct a plant survey in your house and/or garden. Record your findings in your book.
1.Can you find out the names of the plants you have found?
2.Does each plant look healthy? How can you tell?
3.If the plant doesn’t look healthy, can you use your learning to suggest what the problem might be?
4.Can you remember any of the names of the parts of the plant from your learning in Year 2?
Bonus challenge – sketch one of the plants and label it with your findings.
Wider Curriculum Task 2 – Geography
Contours, keys and symbols
Do you remember a couple of weeks ago you explored an introduction to maps?
Here is the next lesson in that sequence, which looks at contours, keys and symbols on maps.

This is always going to be fun
